PORTFOLIO
This is a photo from the painting with light unit we did. I really liked this particular picture from it because it was all over the place with color and shape and pattern. It was a fun project to do. To create this, I spun multiple different Christmas lights around in circles, each in an opposite direction to the other while Tayla took the picture. The shutter speed of the camera was set at 8.0 seconds to be able to capture the color and the blur as we wanted it to be seen. I put this one up in color because that is what the whole project was about; the different things you can do with colrful lights and how they contrast and work together.

This is a photo of Connor Pond in New Hampshire, and I used it for one of my pictures of line and shape. It has a sense of the rule of thirds with the horizontal line from where the mountain "ends". I took this picture from straight on so I could really capture the beauty that was in front of me. It has a depth with a foreground, middle ground and background as well. The difference between the black, whites and grays are very strong which enhances the photo even more. The sun was just setting so the lighting was perfect behind the mountain. The setting of this picture has a calming mood with the ripples in the water and mountain in the back with the sun behind the clouds. This photo captures my attention and those who have seen it say it captures their attention.

This is a photo of the bike racks at the school, I used it for one of my pictures in pattern and texture. I chose this to put in the portfolio because of the pattern and rhythm of the rails and the shadows below them. The angle of the photo makes it seem as though the rails vanish back to the upper right corner. The contrast between the black and whites are distinct which makes for a good picture. It has a large depth of field so you are able to see everything clearly and focused.
